EPF Key Information

  • Contribution Split: Employee 12% of Basic+DA. Employer: 3.67% to EPF + 8.33% to EPS (capped at 15,000 basic)
  • Tax on Interest: Interest on employee contribution exceeding 2.5L/year is taxable (from FY 2021-22)
  • Withdrawal: Full withdrawal allowed after 2 months of unemployment or at retirement (58). Partial withdrawals for housing, medical, marriage etc.
